Guyana U18 3×3 Men’s National Team begins its campaign for 3×3 basketball supremacy at the III South American Youth Games – Rosario, Argentina

Georgetown, Guyana – The Guyana U18 3×3 Basketball Men’s National Team will begin their competition on April 29th at the Plaza de las Ciencias court in Rosario, Santa Fe, Argentina at the III South American Youth Games – Rosario 2022.

The Guyana U18 3×3 Basketball Men’s National Team comprises of four talented rising stars within the Guyana Basketball Federation’s (GABF) Youth Development Programme.

  • Matthias Oswin Arrindell – 16 Yrs., 177cm from Wismar, Linden (Bishop’s High)
  • Kimol Anthony Grimmond – 17 Yrs., 189cm from Lavernsville, Aroaima (Kwakwani Secondary)
  • Troavis Patrick Anthony Lewis – 16 Yrs., 69cm from Kwakwani Park (Kwakwani Secondary)
  • Carmelo Javaughn Man-Son-Hing – 16 Yrs., 177cm from Mackenzie, Linden (St. Roses High)

Team Guyana is placed in group C with Bolivia, Brazil, and Venezuela. The other teams in the competitions are:

  • Group A: Aruba, Argentina, Uruguay
  • Group B: Chile, Ecuador, Paraguay, Surinam
  • Group C: Bolivia, Brazil, Guyana, Venezuela

Team Guyana will compete in the preliminary round on April 29th and 30th with the opportunity to advance to the semi-finals round.

  • April 29th – 11:25 – Guyana vs. Venezuela
  • April 29th – 13:30 – Guyana vs. Bolivia
  • April 30th – 10:40 – Guyana vs. Brazil

The Team Manager is Junior Andrew Hercules – GABF 3×3 Coordinator.

Ronaldo Almanzo Teixeira, the GABF 3×3 Referee candidate will be attending a two-day FIBA 3×3 Referee certification course in Rosario and will be assigned to the pool of Referees for this competition.
