He\u2019s built systems, developed players, and won. We believe he can do the same here.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Walls most recently served as head coach of the Malta Men\u2019s National Team, where he enjoyed notable success on the international stage.<\/p>\n<p>Under his guidance, Malta secured a runner-up finish at the 2022 FIBA Championship for Small Countries before capturing a silver medal at the 2023 Games of the Small States of Europe.<\/p>\n<p>His international coaching credentials also include national team head coaching appointments with the Malta Basketball Association (2022-23), El Salvador Basketball Federation (2016-17), Mongolian Basketball Association (2013-14), and Kenyan Basketball Federation (2013).<\/p>\n<p>In addition, he has served in consulting capacities with the basketball federations of Turkey, Romania, and Palestine between 2005 and 2011.<\/p>\n<p>Walls\u2019 coaching philosophy is supported by a strong academic foundation. He holds a Master\u2019s degree in Sport and Exercise Science from the University of Northern Colorado, complementing decades of practical experience in athlete development, performance management, and programme building.<\/p>\n<p>Beyond his national team accomplishments, Walls has enjoyed a diverse coaching career across multiple professional leagues in the United States, Guatemala, El Salvador, Mongolia, and Mexico.<\/p>\n<p>He has also worked within the collegiate ranks as an NCAA Division III assistant coach and served as camp director for FIBA\u2019s Children of the World Basketball Camp during the 2010 FIBA World Championships in Turkey.<\/p>\n<p>His contributions to the sport extend beyond coaching. Walls is the founder of TheHoopVine.com and 3x3HQ.com, platforms dedicated to basketball development and education, and has extensive experience as an international athletic director at American schools throughout Central America.<\/p>\n<p>Based in Charlotte, North Carolina, Walls will divide his time between the United States and Guyana as he begins assembling the national team roster and coaching staff in preparation for the crucial pre-qualifying tournament.<\/p>\n<p>The Head Coach shall report directly to the GBF President and the Technical Director. Duties include, but are not limited to:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li>Technical Leadership:\n<ul>\n<li>Lead all on-court training sessions, practice drills, and conditioning during the Preparation Period.<\/li>\n<li>Design and implement offensive\/defensive game strategies specifically for the FIBA AmeriCup Pre-Qualifiers.<\/li>\n<li>Conduct video analysis of opposition teams (provided by GBF logistics).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Selection &amp; Management:\n<ul>\n<li>In consultation with GBF leadership, oversee the final roster selection (12\u201315 players) from the pool of invited athletes.<\/li>\n<li>Determine starting lineups, rotations, and in-game substitutions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Collaboration:\n<ul>\n<li>Collaborate with GBF leadership and local coaching staff to align technical strategies with operational capabilities (e.g., travel, medical, equipment).<\/li>\n<li>Attend daily coordination meetings with the National Team Manager.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Program Sustainability:\n<ul>\n<li>Establish a written framework for elite player development and team culture (\u201cProgram Identity Document\u201d) to be delivered to GBF within 30 days post-event.<\/li>\n<li>Set conduct standards for players during the competition window.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p>Guyana has been drawn in Group A alongside Dominica, Turks and Caicos Islands, Antigua and Barbuda, and Bermuda. Group B features Haiti, Grenada, Cayman Islands, Barbados, and St. Vincent and the Grenadines.<\/p>\n<p>The tournament will be played in a round-robin format, with each team facing every opponent within its respective group.
