Second, third, and fourth place will receive $200,000, $100,000, and $50,000, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>This year\u2019s event will play a crucial role in selecting the team to represent Guyana at the FIBA 3\u00d73 AmeriCup, scheduled for November 27\u201330 in Le\u00f3n, Mexico, one of the most prestigious competitions in the Americas for the fast-paced half-court format.<\/p>\n<p>For the first time in Guyana, the championship will be played on a FIBA-certified surface and tiles, similar to those used in international tournaments.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThe surface is important, and we\u2019re proud to have it here for the first time,\u201d said GBF President Michael Singh. \u201cIt\u2019s the same standard used at the AmeriCup, and it shows our commitment to raising the level of 3\u00d73 basketball in Guyana.\u201d<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>James, who first competed in the 3\u00d73 format at the 2022 AmeriCup, will make his National 3\u00d73 debut for the Predators, alongside fellow AmeriCup teammate Shelroy Thomas, BVI-based guard Ray Victor, and 18-year-old big man Jaden Simon.<\/p>\n<p>Other overseas-based players expected to feature include Berchell Glenn, Deylon Bovell, and Akeem Ellis, who will line up for Georgetown.<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>\u201cThis is important for us at the GBF to see our top players in action at home, so we can select the best team for Mexico,\u201d Singh explained.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n<p>Guyana has been one of the Caribbean\u2019s most consistent AmeriCup participants, missing only the 2023 edition in Puerto Rico due to unforeseen circumstances.<\/p>\n<p>Singh noted the Federation\u2019s appreciation for government and corporate support, which has ensured successful participation in past tournaments.<\/p>\n<p>Looking ahead, Singh revealed that the GBF intends to expose the selected national squad to multiple international 3\u00d73 circuit stops, ensuring the team is battle-ready for the AmeriCup.<\/p>\n<p>Last year, Renegades, featuring Jude Corlette, Travis Belgrave, Nikkoloi Smith, and Dominic Vincente, claimed the national title with a 21\u201315 win over Linden at the National Gymnasium.
