GUYANA BASKETBALLGOVERNANCE COMMISSION

The duties of the Governance Commission include:
- To make recommendations on possible improvements to GBF's governance and organisation.
- To review and monitor the relationship between GBF, its Sub-Associations, the Guyana Olympic Association and the National Sports Commission.
- To monitor the evolution of the Constitution of the Sub-Association and Affiliated Members and to draw up proposals for their improvement and alignment with the GBF's Constitution.
- To review applications for membership.

GOVERNANCE PLAYS A CRUCIAL ROLE IN ENSURING THE INTEGRITY, FAIRNESS, AND GROWTH OF BASKETBALL AT VARIOUS LEVELS TO ENSURE REGULATION AND OVERSIGHT, PROMOTION OF STANDARDS, PLAYER WELFARE, DEVELOPMENT OF THE SPORT, FINANCIAL OVERSIGHT, INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS, RESOLVING DISPUTES, INNOVATION AND ADAPTATION, COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT, AND PUBLIC IMAGE AND TRUST.
