Georgetown, Guyana — Guyana has received an invitation from the International Basketball Federation (FIBA) to participate in eFIBA Season 5, the global national-team competition for NBA 2K esports.
The upcoming season builds on eFIBA’s growing international reach. The previous edition brought together 58 national federations and concluded with the eFIBA World Finals in Qatar, where the Philippines claimed its first world title. eFIBA is a key FIBA initiative designed to engage new audiences, support basketball development and create opportunities for national federations through virtual basketball.
Season 5 is scheduled to tip off in late January 2027, with the exact start date to be announced by FIBA. The competition will include three stages: Online Regional Qualifiers, Online Regional Finals, and the eFIBA World Finals.
