GLASGOW, Scotland – July 24, 2026 – Guyana’s men’s 3×3 basketball team roared back to life at SEC Hall 4, securing their first win of the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games with a hard-fought 21-17 victory over the Cayman Islands in Friday evening’s Pool A clash.

The result marks a dramatic turnaround for the Guyanese squad, who bounced back from two earlier defeats against Scotland and New Zealand to keep their knockout stage hopes alive.

Anish Ramlall was the hero of the night, leading all scorers with a game-high 9 points on a flawless 3/4 from inside the arc and 3/5 from beyond it. Captain Travis Belgrave added 7 points, including three 2-point baskets, while Kevin Mickle contributed 4 points, 5 rebounds, and a dunk that energized the Guyanese bench. Christian Hinckson rounded out the scoring with 1 point.
