Youth basketball is set for another exciting chapter as Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) officially unveils a packed schedule of activities leading up to the highly anticipated 19th KFC National School Basketball Festival (NSBF).
The tournament’s regional competitions are set to tip off this week, marking the start of several weeks of intense competition across multiple regions.
The festival begins with the City Conference in Georgetown today (April 17) at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall, followed by Region Six starting on April 23. This regional momentum continues on April 30 as the Country Conference takes place at the University of Guyana and President’s College.
The month of May promises a full slate of basketball, starting with the Big Ten Conference at the Retrieve Court on May 1. The action then shifts to the Diamond Conference on May 5 at Covent Garden, followed closely by the Cinderella Conference in Region Two on May 6.
The West Side Conference will wrap up the initial regional rounds on May 8 at West Demerara.
Following the conclusion of these conferences, attention turns to the regional play-offs and finals, which are scheduled to begin on June 10. The official launch of the 19th KFC National School Basketball Festival is set for Friday, June 12, at 2:00 pm at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
The festival reaches its peak with the opening ceremony and the start of the National Championship on June 28, with games running daily through July 5.
The celebrations conclude with the High School All-Star games on Saturday, July 11.
YBG confirmed that more detailed information, including schedules and game fixtures, will be shared in the coming days.
