To celebrate players /administrators next Wednesday at the Retrieve Hard Court
In 2019, a group comprising mainly former basketball players and administrators decided to get together to give back to basketball in Linden after migrating to the United States.

They had begun playing basketball under the influence of the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA), which impacted their lives and caused them to remember where they came from.

Headed by its president, Louis Webster, and with former standout national power forward Dwayne ‘Brown Sugar’ Roberts as assistant secretary and strong support from another former player in Sean ‘Black Shero’ Charles, the Guyballers Inc, despite some challenges, have teamed up with the Retrieve Raiders Basketball Club, and the blessings of the Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA), to help facilitate reviving the sport in their hometown by recognizing some outstanding basketball persons.

As such, they felt compelled to first give due respect to former players, officials, and referees who made sacrifices over the years and are still around, by honouring a selected few for starters.
With the town of Linden also celebrating its 55th anniversary, Guyballers Inc. felt it appropriate to complete this at this time.

They have this Night of Honour set for next Wednesday at the Retrieve Hard Court. It will feature two basketball matches: one starting with an East versus West school game at 7.00 pm and the other featuring a Guyballers side against a Linden All-Star selection. The honouring of those who have contributed significantly to the promotion of the sport over the years will follow.

This inaugural event is free, and fans are assured of several giveaways during the staging of this night of highlighting those individuals who played a pivotal role in Linden’s basketball development.
