Wins for Plaisance, Tutorial, Marian Academy and Bishop’s High in NSBF Georgetown zone

Plaisance Secondary School, Tutorial High, Bishop’s High and Marian Academy recorded wins on Sunday in the Under-19 Division, when the Georgetown zone of the National Schools’ Basketball Festival (NSBF) continued at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. Plaisance defeated St. Joseph High School 57-41 with Nigel Bowen scoring 16 points and 16 rebounds for a double-double and Andrew Johnson 10 points. For St. Joseph High, Denzil Ross finished with 14 points with Tahir Meusa scoring 11 points with six rebounds. Tutorial High beat School of the Nations 50-20 with Zion Gray putting up 20 points and Denzil Logan 19 points. Meanwhile, for Nations, Lyndon Dorway scored six points and grabbed six rebounds. Marian Academy joined the winners’ row with a 55-32 win over Government Technical Institute (GTI) with Timothy Thompson putting up a double-double, 28 points and 15 rebounds, Jahleel Young eight points and five rebounds and Jether Harris six points and six rebounds. For GTI, Shamar Huntley had 10 points and five rebounds and Darnell Hamer 10 points and six rebounds. Bishop’s High secured a walkover Queen’s College. The tournament will break for the Easter Holidays and will continue on April 28 at the same venue. The NSBF Regional Tournament is sponsored by Edward B.
