The Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) has been granted approval from the Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) for the hosting of its Sprite Challenge Series set to begin today at the Cliff Anderson Sports Hall.
Final Four refuels for Sunday- ‘Road to Mecca’ continues
Social networks have been abuzz ahead of Sunday’s much-anticipated National Basketball Club Championships Final Four as teams refuel to continue the journey on the ‘Road to Mecca’ which is the official name of what is a nation-wide competition.
The Guyana Amateur Basketball Federation (GABF) on Tuesday released a letter warning all personnel about participating in any Youth Basketball Guyana (YBG) events, stating that the events are unsanctioned by the governing body of basketball in Guyana.
“SPRITE’-Challenge Series is an exciting school basketball event, which tips off the YBG 2014 calendar. The event is open to u16 and u19- best school Fives’ countrywide. Action will start on March 15, Sat. 10:00h, at Cliff Anderson Sports Hall. The event will also feature a number of novelty activities for players and fans to showcase their dribbling, shooting and passing skills for prizes.
LABA to hold U-19 b/ball meeting with schools today at MSC
The Linden Amateur Basketball Association (LABA) has planned a meeting involving the six Secondary schools vying for this year’s 10th Linden Secondary Schools Under-19 championship, which will bounce off from April 4 through to April 25, today at 3:00pm at the Mackenzie Sports Club Pavilion.
